RUMBLE N THE RAMBLE (RNR) IS A EVENT SERIES BY LOCAL BROOKLYN DJ, DAIYAH.
Multifaceted curator of chaos, DAIYAH identifies herself online as a “science website/museum”; not because of its literal definition but because of her expansive ideas, creativity, and breadth of well-rounded knowledge in music, academia, social justice, and mental health. She’s a DJ, yes. She’s also a promoter, a producer, a curator, a classically trained musician, psychologist in training, and an academic.
DAIYAH, founded her own event series, RNR (Rumble N the Ramble) and since its inception, she has hosted some highly coveted talent. The event is known for its stellar lineups that provide a consistent vibe all night long. RNR was birthed of two desires, to craft carefully curated lineups to ensure quality and equally imperative, to create a pure and loving kinetic energy through dance music, partying, and raving.
DAIYAH is a dynamic force in the New York techno scene and beyond. She grew up in Dallas, TX and moved to NY in 2016. Growing up, DAIYAH was classically trained in vocal performance for over a decade and had a serious appreciation for virtually any genre of music. She grew up listening to everything from west coast rap to soul and R&B, to jazz, metal, and indie…
As a DJ, her roots started in house music in 2017 when she achieved two residencies in New York City playing as a duo. In 2019, DAIYAH went solo and took with her an unwavering and growing passion for techno music. She makes regular appearances at clubs like Bossa Nova Civic Club, Paragon, and BASEMENT and has been featured at parties and clubs such as Tresor Berlin, Pornceptual, Renate, BOUND, Rawmantique, Cicciolina, Stamina Miami, Fourth World, Boiler Room and more. Daiyah additionally has released podcasts with TechClubbers, Oroko Radio, Diffuse Reality, Substantiv, NTS, and more… She recently self-released her debut ep, MOANING & GROANING which is available on many streaming platforms.
Her sets, often described as unexpected, unhinged, and wild, draw inspiration from the harder industrial sounds while blending that with the unbridled genre, experimental. She is known in the community for her captivating sets that roar out to the audience immersing them in disorienting spaces where primal behaviors of the best kind can thrive. DAIYAH has a knack for creating stories that generate seamless impact and facilitate an unparalleled atmosphere. Through her meticulously curated selections, she illustrates a dedication to art, longevity, innovation, and authenticity through sound. Her goal is to search through the most sensual and deepest bowels of techno. Whether it's one of her chaotic sets or her multi-sensory events, you’re in for a journey where music is celebrated in a way that encourages freedom of expression. DAIYAH is a kindred spirit to the underground and thrives on feeding off intimacy created with the crowd. She remains steadfast to her plans of becoming a Clinical Psychologist and a well-respected musician simultaneously. When curious minds ask her if this is possible, she says, “why not?"
